Bringing Your Baby Home

After he’s born your baby has to adjust to his new surroundings. Whether born naturally or through caesarian section, a newborn feels bewildered when he tries to cope with his new environment. That is why the first few weeks are a bit trying for the baby. The baby and you are desperately trying to come to an understanding and the others are also doing the same thing. All your doubts and queries about your changed circumstances will be erased quickly, if you take heed of the tips and be open-minded.

Conversing with and singing to your baby is the best way to make him feel at home. The soothing effect of your voice makes him feel comfortable. The more you communicate with him and the more you use rhyming words the better he feels.

Your newborn will learn to identify you through your voice. By making eye contact with them when you talk to or massage him, you are communicating with him, and if you watch his cues, you’ll learn how he communicates with you.

Your baby relaxes in your arms when you caress him. Train yourself to massage your infant and try to make this a regular routine. One cannot deny the benefits of infant massage.

Hold your baby close, often: Research shows that keeping him close is good for him. He should thrive when in physical contact with you. Cozy by your side, the rhythm of your heart beat and the warmth of your body make your baby relaxed and secure. If you want to do a few things around the house and also have the comfort of your baby with you, carry him in a sling.

When your baby cries you may feel exasperated. It is not a habit but a means of letting you know that he is in some kind of discomfort, be it hunger, pain, wetness or simply craving for more attention. Pick him up, cuddle him, and try to figure out just what it is he needs. After that you can respond to his needs quickly.

This is his basic necessity and will not spoil him. Respond to the needs of your newborn. In the first few weeks new moms are unable to manage a perfect synchronization with their babies. When your newborn receives your total attention through all his senses, it soothes his nerves.

Babies also love to play with toys. But nor all of the toys are good enough for the babies. Discover great ideas and tips about baby toys, baby girl toys and much more, by visiting us at: http://www.babyactivitycenters.net.
